(When waxing may not be recommended)
For your safety, waxing may need to be postponed or modified if any of the following apply:
🚫 Prescription Retinoids or Accutane
• Current use of Accutane (isotretinoin)
• Use within the past 6–12 months
• Topical Retin-A, tretinoin, adapalene, or strong prescription acne medications in the treatment area
These medications thin the skin and increase the risk of lifting or injury.
🚫 Strong Active Skincare Products
• Glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or chemical exfoliants
• High-strength vitamin A products
• Recent chemical peels or resurfacing treatments
• Recent microneedling or laser treatments in the area
Skin must be fully healed before waxing.
🚫 Recent Sun Exposure
• Sunburned skin
• Recent tanning (natural or tanning beds)
• Active peeling or irritated skin
🚫 Certain Medical Conditions
• Diabetes (uncontrolled)
• Autoimmune skin disorders
• Severe varicose veins (in treatment area)
• Active cold sores (for facial waxing)
• Open wounds, cuts, or infections
